If you plan to use the speaker far from your Bluetooth source, then the Clip 3 is a much better choice. So the Clip 3 has a much longer range, the range of the Clip 2 is pretty short, it is below the average. In terms of Bluetooth range, in my outdoor test, I measured 20 feet range by the Clip 2 and 100 feet by the Clip 3. I think this was a good decision because while the built-in cable was a convenient solution if the cable got damaged you completely lost this connectivity option. In contrast, it has been removed by the Clip 3 and it only has an audio jack input port. The Clip 2 has a built-in audio cable which is threaded along the outside of the speaker.

The carabiner of the Clip 3 is also slightly smaller, which can limit its usability. It is very convenient by the Clip 2 that you can easily replace it if you need a larger one or if it gets damaged. This makes the speaker more solid and durable but I still prefer the replaceable carabiner of the older model. The carabiner has been re-designed and now it embraces the whole speaker as a metal frame. While the size and the form remained the same, the design of the Clip 3 has been upgraded in many aspects. This is also the case with the Clip 3, it comes in 11 different colors. It was great by the Clip 2 that it was available in many color options, so everyone was able to choose the color they liked. You can find the reviews of the speakers here:īoth speakers come in the same, small transparent box with only some papers and a micro USB cable included. Being the newer model, it’s not a surprise that the Clip 3 is the more expensive device from the two.Ĭlick here to check the current price of the JBL Clip 2Ĭlick here to check the current price of the JBL Clip 3
